The cloud formations are a wonderful subject to pint. I wished I lived in a house with a magnificent view of the landscape without the obstruction of other buildings, Well I don't so, I have to drive a few miles to find open areas of land where I can observe the cloud formations. Recently, I went to one of the last little cattle farms around, about three miles from my home. There is a nice place pull off the road and enjoy looking at the pasture. I love the live oak trees in Florida that reach to the ground and then gradually turn upwards again and support the massive tree vegetation. These trees provide ideal shade for a ranchers cattle. My goal for this painting was to paint the sky and the clouds. Don't you think the old oak tree and the cattle added an interesting statement my sky painting?

Casa Feliz - SOLD
The Winter Paint Out is over for another year. It was a great event and the weather held out for us all week. There were lots of wonderful paintings turned in from a great group of accomplished artists. I did this painting of the Casa Feliz during the paint out. It was designed by James Gamble Rogers II (1901-1990) a well known architect of Winter Park. I wanted to paint a section of the historical building, but when I got there I did what I usually do and painted the whole building. This painting will make a nice wedding present for the many weddings that are held at the Casa Feliz. SOLD

I stopped my car and did a quick painting. As I was painting, a person stopped by to tell me she saw someone painting that barn some twenty years ago and she purchase the painting from that artist. She was so proud of it she went home and took the painting off the wall and came back to show it to me. The field was full of pink wildflowers. She told me to come back in May and I might see some of the wildflowers at that time. I was especially interested in the white tree that stood out in front of the barn, I painted part of the tree with a masking fluid in the beginning then added a few more small branches with white in the end. I feel like the li
